I haven't had time in the last two weeks to actually sit down a write on this wonderful blog. Traveling 14 hours one day, 6 hours the next, 10 hours 3 days later, 2 hours the next day, 10 hours the day after that, and 10 3 days later. Yeah let me tell you, it has NOT been a great week and a half, putting 52 hours of driving in a car covering Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and California. Never do it, I don't suggest anyone doing it ever again. But hey it was an experience.

I headed to San Diego this last weekend for Tiffany’s wedding at the San Diego Temple. It was awesome because I was the only bridesmaid that actually got to be in the temple for the wedding. It was very nice and everyone enjoyed themselves. But I was very glad for it to be over. My friend is the ultimate stresser and made my heart beat so fast. I don't think I have ever stressed so much in my life. It was nice to stay with Marnie and get to spend time with her, I don’t think we’ve done that for a while. Thanks again Marnie for keeping me.

Peter did not get the job in Utah which is fine. We will just be looking else where, possibly and most likely we will end up in LA at the place he worked at when we met and worked last summer. It should be fun. But we will see, anything can happen.

Peter and I are doing well, abusive as ever...haha just kidding gals! Peter decided to slide into 2nd base with shorts on while playing baseball and has a huge gash up the front of his lower leg. My injury happened while I was in the shower...haha. Peter likes to throw cold water on me while I am in the shower and I knew this time it was coming. I tried to get out of the way and in that attempt, I shoved my middle toe into the bathtub stopper going under the cuticle and cutting the nail right underneath the cuticle. I am expecting to lose my toenail. Kinda gross I know. But hey I find joy in cutting up cadavers so it isn't that bad.

I have been working two volleyball camps since I’ve gotten back from San Diego and will be working two more in the next two weeks. But hey I will be getting a pretty sweet paycheck from all of it.

I can’t wait to see you all at the end of July/beginning of August. We love you all!

Well, the formerly Japan family is all here. I drove up yesterday to pick them up in Seattle. Originally, the itinerary was for them to come in at 5:45 pm but when the Navy issued them the tickets they changed the flight to one that came in at 8:22...which actually came in at 8:30...Not finding this out until I was on my way, I had serious time to kill. Again it helped that I always carry a book. I took my time on the trip...didn't stress out about Seattle traffic...and hung out in a Jack in the Box parking lot until it was close to the time of arrival.

It took us until 11:30 to get back home so we didn't have too much time to visit. Dad had to get up for work this morning and David took off for Bremerton to finish his checkout from the Navy. He is hoping to get it done by Friday so that they can go down to Fremont and spend some time with the Archie's before he has to start work up here.

Morgan keeps saying " I live in Japan" I wonder how long that will last!!! Sitting in the van on the way home with the boys alternately playing and squabbling in the back reminded me of many trips in days gone by with young boys!!! Not that the girls never indulged in that!!!

I thought our big screen had died yesterday but when Dad came home he figured out that it was the satellite card that was the problem. Treven pulled it out and put it back in and we are back in business. I'd really like to delay that as long as possible.

Not much other news...we should be getting a few good sunny days so that we can enjoy the deck...Dad and I really played in the mud on Monday trying to get plants in the ground!!

Hello Everyone!

I am tired of looking for new entries on the blog so I decided I would write in. Things are going well here. Anne visited this last weekend and that was really fun. It was nice to have some company at the apartment.

Last Friday I went to China Fun with my friends that were visiting for the weekend. It was really good. I love China Fun! Then we went to the Del Mar Fair, ate way too much junk food and rode rides that just about made us throw up. It was fun though. But the fair is definitely a high school outing.

Saturday was Tiffany Gill's wedding. It was beautiful and everything went really well. Anne played a bridesmaid and I played a videographer...a fun little job. Saturday night both Anne and I totally passed out, we were so tired!

Church was good on Sunday. Anne decided that she was glad that she is not in a Singles Ward..., duh! Then Anne and I made chicken & broccoli and Matt came over for dinner. It was fun and we did pretty well with the chicken & broccoli.

Anne left on Monday morning and I went back to work. I only have a 4 day week this week at work and then a four day weekend! We have 1 floating holiday at work and they decided that July 1st would be the holiday so I get Friday and Monday (the 4th) off! And I get paid for it! I love this gig! So I am already done with half of the week! Exciting!

My roommate Sandy is leaving for Texas next Tuesday. Sad. It will be weird for her to be gone. She has been staying with her aunt and uncle for the last month. So I am going to the beach with Sandy on Friday and Matt and I are taking her to the Longhorn Cafe (a really good hole in the wall "John Wayne" place we like) and a movie on Friday night. It should be fun.

My camera ran out of batteries but when I get batteries I will post some pictures from the fair.

Tom, more to say later.

It is a cool Sunday evening and I have just finished cleaning up the apartment and Brent's chores (dish washing). I have all the windows open to get the nice breeze flowing through and am greatful that it has not yet gotten unbearably hot. It is nice to be able to relax in a clean and quiet home and not have any homework to do!
I only have two more weeks of my internship and it has gone quite well so far. I have received great feedback from my CI, the other therapists, and my patients. I am giving an in-service to the therapists on July 6th (my 3rd to last day) on TMJ (jaw) disorders and am hopeful that I will be giving new and helpful information to them to use for their patients. I have to say however, that one of the best things about this internship has been the ability to go on lunch dates with Brent since he is 1 mile away!
This coming week will be a big one for Brent at work for 3 reasons: 1) he get's his review and finds out his raise 2) he finds out for sure what the yearly bonus is 3) he finds out if he wins a dream vacation for us through work and is currently in first place. So as you can see, we could potentially have a great week but will be happy no matter what. We already feel blessed with our lives as they are and the opportunities we have been given.
Last night we had a great time at our ward drive-in movie night. We had it at a member's back yard that is huge and comes with one heck of a dream home! We took a tour and had to lift our jaws off the ground. I felt like we were watching cribs on MTV but a much more respectable home. They even had a plasma TV that is hidden above their fireplace and the painting covering it raises with the touch of a button... wow!
Anyway, that's about it from here. Our thoughts are constantly with all of you and definitely witht he ones going through a move. Have a good week everyone!

Santa letter that I wrote from the year I turned 8 years old. I think Kay-kay must have had an input on the pick any one of these.

It is 0224 and I am sitting at my computer awaiting the arrival of Kim and Treven from Hood River. That is 66.6 miles east of Vancouver. He is driving; they are tired; I am wired. So, with that thought in mind, it is funny how your mind wanders while youare waiting for your chillin (children) to arrive home from a date (trip).

With that said, I just got to thinking about the name of this BLOG. Sundry Seven includes only the seven of you, so, from now on, when referring to your mother and I, we are now the Saturday One and Two. Well, that being noted, I am guessing that number Two is yours truly and number One is, none other than, your mother.

Speaking of you mother, she lost her diamond from her ring on, I think, Friday sometime. Wonderful her, I asked if she wanted to go down and get a new diamond and she exclaimed that, "It isn't high on my list of priorities". Sorta like, "Your Corvette fettish isn't high on my priorities". Hmmmm. Again, it is 0229 in the morning.

Ding Dong, The Deck is Done...........

We went to see the wonderful Tabernacle Choir last night at the Rose Garden in Portland. I understand the Schickies were there too, however, we did not see them. We got our tickets when they first came out so we were on the floor, five rows back, right in front of the orchestra (which loomed 10 feet above us). Kinda like going late to the premier of a new movie and having to sit in the front row. We could just barely see throught the long, silver tube, prison bar-like thingy that sounded like a gong or bells, depending on who hit them with the rubber mallets. Anyway, they were good and it was a very inspiring show. Much different feeling than hearing them on cd/ dvd/ or live at Temple Square. This was MUCH better for us.

So, I am getting ready for bed; I am brushing my teeth by the Jacuzzi tub and look down at the floor. A sparkling light hit me in my right eye and, low and behold, there is mom's diamond. This is the second time in 35 1/2 years of marriage that she has lost it. Last time was, I think, in Seattle and we lost it for weeks. That time, we were cleaning out one of our cars and as I was sweeping out the floor of that car, a sparkle hit me in the right eye (I guess my left eye is always closed)...and there it was. Awesome.

Well, I have to disagree with you guys on this one. When I was going out for interviews for dental school, in Louisville, I was surprised to see how easy it was to get a car and I was ony 24. I guess it just may be a state policy. Anyway, I think I had to pay like 2 more dollars a day. Life is normal here. The weather is nice, tracey takes off in a day to go to utah for two weeks to allow me to go into stress mode as I prepare for boards on the 11th of July. I am sure it will be fine but it will be nice to get it out of the way. I will miss the two of them though. We will not find out the gender of the new one until after we get back in August but that is not too far away. I continue to try to bend my finger but I should be able to start to do some "real" dentistry. I will let you guys know. Tom

Peter, I know what you're saying. I remember trying to rent a car under 25. Either they'll just say "Sorry, too bad" or they'll want you to put down a ridiculous deposit. I guess they have just had too many bad experiences with 'young' drivers, and I guess the magic age is '25'.

I don't know if this option has been thrown out or not. I saw an add on tv for a company that sounds very similar to ABF. It is called PODS(portable on demand storage). It looked like they do the same thing as ABF where they drop a container off at your place, you fill it and then they move it. The web site is just www.pods.com. I thought I would just let Mike and Brooke know as a possible option. Good luck with everything. I havn't been able to read any blogs for for almost a week now and hope to catch up soon. I did see the pics of the sweet deck and jacuzzi. I am now in school and trying to get everything set up in our apartment here in Provo while Anne is on her way down to San Diego. Just as an FYI. If you are under the age of 25, don't try and rent a car. At least that is the case in California. We tried to get Anne on a flight to Cali for this weekend instead of her having to drive by herself. We bought tickets and then looked at the car rental and realized that nobody will rent a car to her. We were lucky and jetblue refunded us for the unusable tickets. Anyways, gotta run.

Still no news. We know that contact has been made, but the Col. in charge is/was in Germany until the end of this week. My best friend here on post moved yesterday. This is the part about the Army I hate. I really do. Dave and Adina, I hope everything is going well. I called u-pack a few days ago, to see if there was something I was missing and the woman was astonished with my quote, but said it was accurate. She said it just must be a really odd trip. So U-haul it is for $2300 less. I think we are going to hire some loaders. Our ward has so many people moving right now, I just don't think we are going to get alot of help. We have a couple of weeks to decide still. Besides that not much is happening. We went to the zoo yesterday with our friends that moved (he had things to do still and she was out of her house). I think we will buy a membership to the Portland zoo. My kids just love it. It all depends on where we live doesn't it? Okay, that's all for now. The deck looks beautiful by the way. Love, Brooke

Inagural event in the tub 

Here we are, just about done with the deck building. Being held up by county electrical inspector. Here once, motors to pumps not grounded properly; have to fix. Fixed..but, then, no inspector available. Construction team continues to get the stairs and rails in. We plan to get the hot tub online by Saturday and get in the plants around the perimeter. Still have some changes to make in our sprinkler system, but, hey, that is the fun of a project like this. Really looking forward to some enjoyable nights out there this summer. The ping pong table is officially an outside toy which will probably make its way to the deck..buying a cover for it via Brent. We have a sit around and smell the smoke circular fire raised pit for the concrete part of the deck, more chairs coming. Good times ahead. Love you all, Dad
